Born for This is a unique and powerful musical, performed by young people from our Catholic Secondary Schools working with Clifton Diocese Youth Ministry, that brings the Stations of the Cross to life.
This week sees the first opportunity for parish training in Youth Ministry. If you are a catechist, youth leader or simply interested in working with young people in your parish come along and find out more. The dates are as follows:
The Vocations Ministry in Clifton Diocese has seen lots of clergy, religious and lay support over the past few years, as Fr Matt Anscombe has sought to help us build the culture of vocation in Clifton Diocese. Now, Fr Dominic Findlay-Wilson, based at Holy Rood, Swindon, has been appointed by Bishop Declan as Assistant Vocations Director. As Fr Matt explains:
Bishop Declan drew our diocesan family together during National Marriage Week for our celebration of Marriage in the Cathedral this last Saturday, 11 February. It was good to see so many travelling from across the diocese to be with him and with others.
Pope Francis put young people centre-stage when he began 2017 with a letter asking them what they wanted of the Church. It is a question which will undoubtedly spark a lot of discussion, and what better place to start than the CYMFed Flame Congress, being held on March 11th 2017 at the SSE Arena, Wembley.
Pupils at Holy Family Primary Primary School in Bristol, have put on their dancing shoes once again. This year children from Key Stage Two have reaped the benefits of months of vigorous rehearsals, in preparation for the South Gloucestershire Dance Festival, held at Abbeywood Community School.
The Diocesan Liturgy Office, working as part of the Department of Adult Education, is hosting a day for all those involved and engaged in the liturgical life of our parishes. Celebrating Lent and Easter is a day to help all those who exercise a liturgical ministry or hold a liturgical interest in their preparations for these two beautiful seasons.
There are a goodly number of people who are familiar with Divine Renovation: moving your parish from maintenance to mission. The author, Fr James Mallon, is taking part in this year’s Alpha Leadership Conference which takes place on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 May and the Alpha Global Gathering on Wednesday 3 May. Fr James will be leading a seminar in the afternoon of the Wednesday seminar sessions.
Young people from the Clifton Diocese who have been taking part in the CAFOD Young Leadership Course run by our Youth Ministry team, recently visited CAFOD HQ, Romero House in London to receive their certificates having completed the course.
