The bishops of England and Wales will hold a National Eucharistic Pilgrimage and Congress in Liverpool next year (7-9 September 2018). Eucharistic Congresses are gatherings of clergy, religious and laity which promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. The last Eucharistic Congress in England was held in 1908 when permissions for a public procession of the Blessed Sacrament were refused.
The Department of Adult Education are registering people now for this year’s Diocesan Family Day, with well over two hundred people already registered for the day! With just one week to go, Bishop Declan is inviting our diocesan community to come together on Saturday 1 July for a day’s gathering and formation centred around living the gift of our baptism at St Brendan’s College, Brislington.

This year our primary leavers mass was held over two days again as so many students wanted to attend the Cathedral. Nearly 1ooo Year 6 children from all over the Diocese came to Clifton Cathedral on Wednesday to celebrate their time in primary school and to look forward to their moves to secondary school in September. There will be a second Mass on Thursday with another 1,000 Year 6 children.
Sr. Marilda SSpS celebrated her 75th anniversary in Religious Vows at the Convent in Lawrence Weston, Bristol for the Missionary Sisters of Servants of the Holy Spirit on Sunday 11th June surrounded by friends and family. The main celebrant was Fr Timothy Lehane SVD, Provincial of IBP.
