Migration comprises an integral part of our history and is an important dimension of our current reality and experience of living in Britain and Ireland. In addition, the reality of migration and welcoming strangers particularly those who are vulnerable and in need, is not new one but is an important aspect of the mission and ministry of the Catholic Church.
Racial Justice Sunday 2010 offers us a unique opportunity to reflect on the fact that we are all members of a single human family, bound together by our common humanity. We therefore need to do all we can to build bridges of contact, relationship and friendship between people of different ethnic minority and majority communities, and to eliminate preventable barriers.
