Our inner-city Bristol parish is hosting a special Mass to remember Archbishop Oscar Romero who was shot to death whilst celebrating Mass 30 years ago.
St Nicholas of Tolentino Parish Priest Father Richard McKay told cliftondiocese.com: "St Nick’s is holding a 30th anniversary celebration Mass for the martyrdom of Archbishop Oscar Romero.
"It will be on Wednesday 24 March - the date of the actual anniversary - at 7.30pm, and I hope it will feature some Latin American music in both Spanish and Portuguese.
"We will remember all the martyrs and dead of that brutal conflict that claimed over 70,000 Salvadorean lives, which included many priests, nuns, lay workers, teachers and trades unionists."
St Nicholas of Tolentino Church is on Lawford’s Gate, Bristol BS5
0RE.
Father Richard’s made a podcast to tell us more about this special Mass. You can listen to it in the multimedia panel on the right.
