Supporting Pastoral CouncilsThe guidelines seek to help a Parish reflect on its mission and so come to a realisation of its pastoral priorities. These guidelines are accompanied by various reflection papers which are entitled 'Supporting Pastoral Councils' and have been prepared by various Diocesan departments. The initial leaflets reflect the priorities of the Diocesan Pastoral Council. They are not intended to be exhaustive nor in any particular order of importance.
The first three reflection sheets are downloadable below – more will follow.

Becoming an even more Welcoming Parish
These reflection sheets do not stand alone but are intended as a supplement to the Guidelines booklet.
Throughout these guidelines Pope John Paul's letter 'At the Beginning of the New Millennium' (known by the Latin Initials MNI) is quoted. Some parishes have found this a useful document to help reflect on Pastoral priorities. A booklet of reflection papers based upon the pastoral priorities set out by the Pope is available from the Department for Adult Education & Evangelisation.
