The Friends of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Chippenham held their annual Christmas Fair at the School.
Father Christmas was on hand to meet with hopeful boys and girls, all
eager to tell him what they would like to receive this Christmas.
Everyone tried their hands at the Chocolate and Bottle tombolas and
various competitions, whilst younger visitors had a go at making angel
decorations.
For the second year running, freshly cut Christmas trees were available
for sale and the wonderful scent of pine added to the festive
atmosphere. “We have done exceedingly well this year”, said Mr Paul
Bayly, newly elected chairperson of the Friends. “We raised over £2000
for the school, which will be put towards the purchase of an
interactive classroom whiteboard”.
A new addition to the traditional stalls was a fabulous chocolate
fondue fountain. It proved very popular. Children and adults alike
indulged in dipping marshmallows, strawberries and pineapple, getting
thoroughly sticky in the process! “It’s just like in Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory,” said one excited little girl.
