Archbishop’s wife visits Salisbury

Dr Jane Williams, wife of the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Rowan Williams, will visit Sarum College, where Bishop Declan is a Trustee, on Monday 6 November. She will be launching her latest book, entitled Angels.

In this beautifully illustrated book, acclaimed author Jane Williams explores the world of angels in Scripture and what we can learn from them today. The Bible, she argues, describes a universe in which we are not the only created beings. There are other creatures who are not human, not animal and not God: Angels are one of those orders of being.

Dr Williams is a freelance writer who contributes regularly to the Church Times. A trained theologian, she has taught Doctrine and History at Trinity Theological College, Bristol. Her other books include Approaching Christmas and Approaching Easter . She is married to Dr Rowan Williams and they have two children.

The launch event will be at 5.30 pm on Monday 6 November, followed by a lecture at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available from Sarum College Bookshop on 01722 326899 or email bookshop@sarum.ac.uk
