30 November 2008
The popular BBC Radio Bristol Christmas Carol Service is to be held in Clifton Cathedral. The annual event is free and always proves a popular night’s festive entertainment.
The details were announced on BBC Radio Bristol’s and BBC Somerset’s ‘Sunday Starts’ this morning (30 November), by presenter Trevor Fry.
Dean of Clifton Cathedral, Canon Alan Finley, welcomed the BBC’s decision to stage the event in the Cathedral. You can listen to his reaction in the podcast available in the multimedia panel on the right.
The popularity of the event means that only ticket-holders can attend. However, the tickers are free. All you need to do is send a stamped addressed envelope requesting the number of tickets required to: Christmas Celebration, BBC Radio Bristol, PO Box 194, Bristol BS99 7QT. The tickets will be sent out on a first come, first served basis - so write in as soon as possible to secure yours.
The service takes place at 8.00 pm on Tuesday 16 December. Alex Lovell and Richard Wyatt will present the service. They'll be joined by other BBC Radio Bristol presenters who will give the readings.
