News of the magazine edited by a Clifton Diocese student for the priesthood has made the BBC website. ‘
The Evangelist’ is available in all parishes in our diocese and across whole of the south of England. Matt Anscombe in the editor and he spoke with the BBC to explain the reason he worked so hard editing the magazine.
Clifton Diocese Vocations Director Father Robert King spotted the article when he was keeping up to date with news from around the diocese. He told
cliftondiocese.com: “I was very edified to read the article about Matt Anscombe on the
BBC Somerset website in their dedicated faith section.
“Every priest and would-be priest has a story to tell and it’s a wonderful thing when the local media shares their stories with people in the West Country.
“As Vocations Director for our diocese I’m aware that the life and work of a priest is often a mystery for many. Articles such as the one about Matt not only help to dispel myths about vocational discernment and the process of priestly formation, they have the potential to inspire and encourage those considering their own vocation.
“Do take a moment to read the BBC Somerset article about Matt. Also, to read the excellent ‘The Evangelist’ - a magazine looking at the daily life and mission of a contemporary seminary forming priests to serve in our parishes. Edited by Matt ‘The Evangelist’ is available from your parish or you can
read it online.”
‘The Evangelist’ also contains an article written by Bishop Declan.
