This page brings you the latest news of the current ativities stemming from our pastoral guidelines 'Called to be a People of Hope'.
The latest stage of our positive planning for the future as set out in our diocesan pastoral guidelines 'Called to be a People of Hope' got underway in April 2009. It resulted in the publication of ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’.
Our vision for the future organisation of parishes - ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’ - was launched on 23 June 2010 when hundreds of people came to the Cathedral, to be among the first to obtain copies of the booklet. ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’ and our popular prayercard is available in the multimedia panel on the right.
A full report from the launch is still online. We also have all the background information and documents that make up the process of arriving at ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’ available online.
Prior to the launch Canon Bernard Massey recorded a podcast about ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’. It is still online. Canon Bernard talks about the purpose of ‘Parishes in Communion for Mission’, how so many people contributed to it and how our vision for the future organisation of parishes is the positive springboard for the future.
In early 2011 Bishop Declan is holding meetings throughout our diocese. Father Michael McAndrew is our Parishes in Communion for Mission Coordinator. His podcast explains much more about the meetings.
You can email questions about ‘Called to be a People of Hope’.
Much more on the background about and the publications that are the fruits of our working together are online at our 'Called to be a People of Hope' publications page.
