Canon Liam O’Driscoll's Ruby Jubilee

As special report from the Mass celebrating the Ruby Jubilee of ordination to the priesthood of Canon Liam O’Drisscoll. Canon Liam is Dean of Trowbridge and Parish Priest of the town’s St John the Baptist.

Father Philip Baptise MSFS, Parish Priest of the Immaculate Conception, Devizes, has written the report below on his blog: http://stjosephstalk.blogspot.com. We thank Father Philip for sending the image, taken with his mobile phone, of Canon Liam. Further pictures come from the parish magazine.

Yesterday evening (28 March) we had the joy of attending Canon Liam's Jubilee celebrations. We began with Mass in St John's and then continued in St Augustine's College. Canon Liam was the principal celebrant, among the 40 or so concelebrants were Bishops Alexander and Lang. During his homily Bishop Declan Lang paid tribute to the Canon's living out of his priestly vocation. He remarked on how hard it is to say "no" to Canon Liam. As we thank God for his vocation we continue to pray for vocations and warmly congratulate Canon Liam.
