Catholic Students Joint Retreat

Bristol and Cardiff University Catholic Chaplaincies held a joint retreat to Downside Abbey outside Bath at the beginning of March.

This event built upon the series of joint events held by Cardiff CathSoc and Bristol CASSOC over the last few years which has sparked many new friendships.

The weekend was led by Father Alexander from the Benedictine community based at the Abbey who gave a number of insightful talks on the Holy Spirit.

Matt French, a student at the University of Bristol, said, “As well as attending the Divine Office and Mass with the monks, we enjoyed walks around the local countryside and visited the local pub - where the landlord remembered the last time Bristol CASSOC held a retreat at Downside! On Sunday lunchtime it was great to sit down together to a roast pork dinner which we cooked before heading back home.”
