Charismatic Gathering

6 February 2010
Location: Locking Castle Church
Address: Bransby Way, Weston-super-Mare BS24 7BW
Time: 10.00 am to 4.00 pm

A day of prayer and praise for the family in Weston-super-Mare.

The speaker is David Wells the Co-Director of the Department for Formation in the Plymouth Diocese.

All are welcome to this ecumenical event.  No booking required. Are there are limited crèche facilities.

This event is one of several organised each year around the diocese to give opportunities to experience powerful Charismatic style prayer, praise teaching and music.

One of the organisers John Fenlon, part of the local Catholic charismatic renewal team, told cliftondiocese.com: “David Wells is a gripping storyteller and a family man with a gift for communicating faith.  He has previously said that storytelling was far better than the linear method of learning, which assumes that people need to have knowledge in order to receive.

“A story communicates through images and feelings rather than facts and eyewitness accounts.

“David is a former RE teacher and spent six years as Adult Religious Education Adviser for the Nottingham Diocese before taking his current role.

“A renowned speaker and presentation of seminars in many parts of the world, David has also developed learning programmes for parents.

“Although the Weston day is primarily for a Catholic audience the day has a strong ecumenical theme and the interdenominational church at Locking Castle was chosen in the hope that Christians from a number of denominations would find the day of interest.”
