Culmination of St Kenelm Walk

30 July 2009

Our Parish Priest in Winchcombe, Father Peter Slocombe, has been in touch sharing pictures of his recent 60 mile walk

Earlier this month cliftondiocese.com brought you news of the ecumenical pilgrimage in honour of local saint, St Kenelm.

Father Peter told cliftondiocese.com: “The walk went well.  Winchcombe’s three clergy - Methodist Minister, Anglican Vicar and myself led the walk.  It can’t be that often that such an ecumenical event happens and is a success.

The pilgrims also attracted wider interest.  Father Peter added: “Radio Winchcombe did two hours of interviewing and there will be a programme with edited parts in October.”

The dedicated walkers covered the pilgrimage at an average speed of 2.19 miles per hour.
