Clifton Diocese was legally established as a charitable corporation by the general trust deed dated 6 May 1934 under the title Clifton Catholic Diocesan Trustees Registered. Being registered with the Charity Commission (number 233977) the diocese enjoys charitable trustee status. In general all properties and assets of the diocese are vested in the trustees.
