Our new podcast series, where we find out about the amazing life-changing mission of a group of people from our St Augustine of Canterbury parish in Downend, Bristol. We meet parishioners who’ve done an incredible amount to help orphans in India. Not only have they raised £30,000 - even in these difficult financial times - they’ve just come back from India having built a new school. Now they need to help protect the children from the threat of abduction and death.
Today
cliftondiocese.com meets John Jordan. He tells us about
Haven Home an orphanage in Andhra Pradesh, India. He describes the threat to the children’s lives because of the trade in human organs.
John tells us that he’s: “blessed to have part of a recent visit to Haven Home”.
You can hear John in our multimedia panel on the right.
‘Downend Dedication’ continues over the next four weeks. Every Saturday
cliftondiocese.com will bring you a new episode about this amazing faith-filled mission.
As John tells us, the next project is the urgent need to build a wall to protect children from being snatched. In that area of India there have been several cases of children being found dead with organs removed.
Our next episode of ‘Downend Dedication’ sees Gill Rowell telling us about: “one of the most fantastic experiences of her life”.
Last week’s ‘Downend Dedication’ set the scene as we heard from Martyn Poole and how he enthused the people of his parish to do so much for the children at Haven Home.
