Pilgrims Look Forward to World Youth Day

25 January 2008

cliftondiocese.com is running a podcast series with our World Youth Day pilgrims this week.  We continue our series of conversations with a couple more people travelling to this massive gathering.

World Youth Day is the largest youth event in the world.  It takes pace in Sydney from 15 to 20 July and around 15 young people from the Clifton Diocese are taking part.

We caught up with some of our pilgrims at a meeting to finalise details of the trip. You can hear from them as cliftondiocese.com brings you a podcast each day this week.  Listen to and download today’s podcast in the multimedia panel on the right.

Today Liz and Robert talk with us.  July will see Liz embark upon her fourth World Youth Day, whilst it’s the first time for Salisbury Youth Ministry Coordinator, Robert.  Liz has received top support from her parish in Wellington.  She tells us that St John Fisher parishioners have been her backbone, whilst she raised funds to finance the trip.

We talked with Antonia and Rachel when we launched this series on Monday.  On Tuesday Lucy and Annabel had their say.  Wednesday’s pilgrims were Shaun and Lizzy and yesterday it was Maria and Chris.

Amazingly two places have become available for this fantastic pilgrimage to World Youth Day!  If you’d like to find out more call Ronnie Mitchinson on 0117 902 5595.
