Father Campbell’s Soup

8 March 2010

Father Eugene Campbell of Holy Family in Patchway, Bristol is putting his chef's training to good use this Lent.  cliftondiocese.com went to St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre in Bradley Stoke to sample Father Campbell’s soup.

Throughout Lent, Father Eugene is making fresh homemade soup, for the Lenten hunger lunches which will take place between 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm on Tuesdays at the St Joseph’s Pastoral Centre, Juniper Way, Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 8EJ and also 12.00 pm and 1.00 pm on Fridays (including Good Friday) in the Holy Family Pastoral Centre, Southsea Road, Patchway, Bristol BS34 5DP.

To complete the lunches, there are rolls and cheese as well as hot beverages. The minimum donation to the appeal is just £1.50. Last year these popular lunches raised over £600.00 for CAFOD (Catholic Agency for Overseas Development).

Father Eugene is a qualified chef from his past life and is known for making a very delicious variety of vegetable soups!

Everyone is welcome to come along, enjoy the soup and help raise funds for CAFOD's Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
