Father Michael's Papal Visit Update

28 May 2010

Clifton Diocese Papal Visit Coordinator Father Michael McAndrew looks ahead to a busy weekend of radio appearances.

Father Michael took up the important role of Clifton Diocese Papal Visit Coordinator on Tuesday (25 May) and already he's spoken with all our parish priests to organise young local people's involvement is a special part of the papal visit.

This Sunday (30 May) he'll be on BBC Radio Gloucestershire as well as BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Somerset.  He'll be talking about the busy few days he's had since taking on the new role and how the people making up the Catholic Church in the West of England can be part of the Holy Father's historic visit.

Father Michael will be a guest of BBC Gloucestershire’s Richard Atkins on his popular Sunday Breakfast programme.  You can tune in every Sunday between 6.00 am to 10.00 am to enjoy the programme with a relaxing start building to thought provoking news and features with faith in mind. Father Michael will be talking sometime between 7.20 am and 8.00 am.

BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Somerset’s ‘Sunday Starts’ is presented by Trevor Fry every Sunday from 6.00 am to 10.00 am.  Father Michael will be talking with Trevor between 8.00 am and 8.30 am this Sunday.  ‘Sunday Starts’ is a place where you can hear plenty more about faith and community in our area.

You can listen to Father Michael in today's podcast in the multimedia panel on the right.

The official website thepapalvisit.org.uk is the best place to find out the most up-to-date information in the build up to the special time in the life of the Church in our countries.  The top quality website will also provide the best coverage during the visit - if you're unable to be at any of the events it's a great place for you to follow the visit virtually.

You can also make your donation towards the visit at the official website.  It's simple, secure and direct.

Father Michael recommends the weekly audio updates from Monsignor Andrew Summersgill the Papal Visit Coordinator.  Monsignor Andrew’s updates come from the official website thepapalvisit.org.uk and last week's update is still online
