Filipino Night to Remember
The Catholic Parish in Burnham-on-Sea - Our Lady and the English
Martyrs - recently enjoyed a Filipino barbeque and social in the
presbytery garden.
Over 80 people, some Filipinos coming from neighbouring parishes, enjoyed the event.
Parish Priest Father Peter Slocombe said, “It was a good gathering of traditional parishioners and Filipino newcomers, many working in parish nursing homes. There was food to fill a multitude and lots of "takeaways" afterwards.”
Father Peter was helped by seminarian Jhoen Buenaventura from Manila who is studying at the Beda College in Rome during the celebration of diverse parish community life.
