Fr Matt and Fr Tom talk about their Vocation Journey on Shalom World TV

Fr Matt Anscombe, Clifton Diocese Vocations Director and parish priest of St Bernadette’s, Bristol, and Fr Tom Dubois, parish priest of St Francis of Assisi, Nailsea and St Joseph, Portishead have both recently featured on Shalom World TV. They both were filmed in their parishes talking about their vocation journey on a series called ‘Vocare’. Check it out here –

Shalom World TV has lots of great shows on it. It is a super Catholic resource and is well worth looking at and passing on to friends, or those interested in knowing more about the faith.

Downside Starts Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for All Vocations

In readiness for the Vocations Discernment Retreat to be held at Downside Abbey 1-3 December 2017, both the Monastic Community, and members of the laity, are continually praying for 33 days before the Blessed Sacrament. They hope to discern their own vocation, but, additionally, will be thinking, and praying, for all of those young Catholic adults attending the Retreat. There are nearly 100 Adorers involved, and many were commissioned at a special service held in Downside’s St. Peter’s Chapel, more commonly known as “The Crypt”.

The Retreat, which is a joint venture between Downside and Clifton Diocese, will be considering all vocations, and then guiding young Catholic adults (18 to 35ish years of age) in the discernment process. Twenty-one young Catholics have already registered to attend what will be a demanding, yet stimulating, weekend. The full programme can be seen here
