2 March 2010
Location: St John’s Parish Hall
Address: South Parade, Bath BA2 4AF
Time: 7.30 pm
A talk and discussion led by Dr Tina Change of the University of Bath and Peter Jenkins on one of major issues of our day.
Tina Chang and Peter Jenkins will offer contrasting analyses of the consequences of globalisation for mankind, but also especially for Britain. Has liberalising the movement of goods, services, capital, labour and information brought benefits to those whom Jesus enjoins us to love, or has it done them more harm than good?
There is a strong Christian tradition that the economic system should be organised so as to benefit the "common good". Can it be said that this has been the effect of globalisation? This talk and discussion will challenge us to think about these questions.
This is the part of a series of informal discussions - The Christian Faith in the 21st Century - encouraging Catholics to explore the relation between their faith and important contemporary ideas.
They'll be coffee and biscuits available and all are welcome.
When you arrive entering at the top car park, go left down four steps and into the door on the right.
