17 March 2009

Professor Paul Williams, a parishioner at Clifton Cathedral is warming up for the walk of lifetime - he’s raising funds for a local counselling charity by walking over red-hot coals.

Paul’s fiery occasion takes place on Friday 15 May and in the time building up to that he seeking sponsors to aid Network, which provides affordable counselling for anyone in need. Network is based at Bristol’s Wesley College which is the location for Paul’s walk.

When asked about what training he might be undertaking, Paul told cliftondiocese.com:  “There’s no training in advance for my marvellous feet!  Apparently all those who are taking part turn up for a psyching-up session a couple of hours ahead of the event. That is all!

“I have sponsorship forms and if people want to sponsor me they email me. Or they could grab me after Sunday Mass in the Cathedral - usually the 11.00 am.”
