10 May 2008
Location: Convent of the Poor Clares
Address: Woodchester, Stroud GL5 5HS
Time: 10.30 am to 4.00 pm
The Event
Set in idyllic surroundings in the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside, the Poor Clare’s Convent is an ideal setting for the Clifton Diocese Justice and Peace Commission’s Day of Reflection.
The commission is pleased to have the services of Frank Regan to help reflect on ‘The World at Cross Roads’. Weaving together challenges surrounding the world’s environmental crisis and the Christian imperative to care for our neighbours, wherever they may be, the day looks at the spiritual dimension of our calling to do justice - in a peaceful atmosphere away from the busyness of modern life.
If you are someone with a desire to ‘love your neighbour’ in a very practical sense and are seeking a spiritual underpinning for that desire, then this is a day for you.
Refreshments will be available during the day, and those attending are invited to bring something to share for lunch.
Limited spaces so book early to avoid disappointment.
The Clifton Diocese Justice and Peace Commission
The commission is tasked with keeping the vital work of justice and peace at the forefront of diocesan life. Recent work has included the publication of the Clifton Diocese Polish Directory. As well as Church information the Clifton Diocese Polish Directory gives practical details about organisations that could be of help to polish migrants.
Frank Regan
Frank Regan spent 40 years in missionary priestly ministry mainly in the area of justice and peace, liberation theology and spirituality and adult formation in the faith. He left the ministry to marry but continues to speak and write on peace and justice issues here in this country and internationally.
