Let Us Pod

21 November 2007

Hot on the heels of success at the Jerusalem Radio Awards cliftondiocese.com launches a new series of podcasts.

The innovative series, made by top producer Mary Colwell, looks at some of the biggest issues we all deal with in our lives – but specifically from a local and Christian perspective.

The first ever ‘Let Us Pod’ - ‘The Clifton Cathedral Podcast’ - recently won a national prize at the Jerusalem Awards.  The podcast came out the winner - against 10 others, including traditional broadcasters such as the BBC - in the new media category.

Mary Colwell said, “The Jerusalem Award has spurred us on to create more podcasts.

“We have already produced special podcasts for Sound of Many Waters - Clifton Cathedral’s exploration of our need to care for our environment.

“This new series of podcasts feature reflections on issues of concern in peoples’ lives.”

The first in the series is ‘Being a student’.  It’s written and narrated by Peter Vaughan-Shaw who studied at the University of Bristol.  This ‘Let Us Pod’ edition comes at a time when students have had the opportunity to settle into university life, whilst recognising life often challenges us unexpectedly.

You can download ‘Let Us Pod’ in the multimedia panel on the right.

Other podcasts is this ‘Let Us Pod’ series include: Bereavement, Vocations, Facing death, Fatherhood, Migration, Relationship breakdown, Confession, and the Environment.

The Bishop of Clifton, Right Reverend Declan Lang said, “As Catholics, we believe it’s important to communicate our faith.  Our ‘Let Us Pod’ series allows us to make known to other people the Catholic way of life.  It also enables us to share with one another the faith that binds us together.”

We plan to bring you the ‘Let Us Pod’ series every Wednesday over the coming few weeks.  Keep listening to ‘Let Us Pod’ and let us know what you think of the podcasts by filling in the form below.
