Lourdes Direct: Mass for the Clifton Diocese

25 August 2008

This morning, Bishop Declan celebrated Mass for all the pilgrims from the Clifton Diocese currently in Lourdes.  We bring you a podcast of that Mass in full and a video of the homily given by Parish Priest of The Forest of Dean, Father Barnabas Page.

The podcast and video from Lourdes will give you an idea of what it’s like to be part of the diocesan pilgrimage.  They are available in the multimedia panel on the right.

We also have some pictures of the Mass in our image gallery - just click on the small photographs for the big picture.

Bishop Declan is leading the diocesan pilgrimage to Lourdes this week (Friday 22 August to Friday 29 August).  He is joined by many Catholics from the West of England marking the 150th anniversary of the French town becoming a place of pilgrimage.

cliftondiocese.com is bringing you regular podcasts and pictures from Lourdes - so people back home can feel that they are part of the pilgrimage.

cliftondiocese.com has brought you - direct from Lourdes - news of the pilgrims’ arrival, Bishop Declan encapsulating the Lourdes story, the sounds of the opening Mass and earlier today we reported on the media interest in our pilgrimage.

Throughout the year a series of podcasts entitled ‘Lourdes Lives’ has been published weekly on cliftondiocese.com.  ‘Lourdes Lives’ features local people who have visited Lourdes talking about their, sometimes life changing, experiences.
