An Indian rock star quit his showbiz life after meeting Mother Teresa and receiving a message from her. Glen La'rive now devotes his musical talents to God. He tours the world with Father Augustine Vallooran providing retreats and ministry to Catholics and people of all faiths. Glen is in Bristol this weekend and speaks about his amazing story in our special podcast.
Glen recounts his time as a singer in Indian rock band Nervous Breakdown in our podcast which can be downloaded in the multimedia panel on the right. He also describes meeting Mother Teresa and how she told him to devote his music to God.
Glen performs with his wife Teresa and begans a three-day stay in Bristol this evening (27 February). They are supporting Father Augustine Vallooran, Director of the Divine Retreat Centre in Muringoor Kerala, India, who is leading a retreat for local Christians at St Nicholas of Tolentino church in Bristol's inner-city.
You can also listen to a couple of Glen and Teresa's tracks from their five faith-filled albums in the multimedia panel on the right.
We also spoke with Father Augustine Vallooran as he prepared for the retreat earlier this evening. Father Augustine spoke with us giving his thoughts on the Universal Church, his first impressions of St Nick's, as well as giving a special message in his own language to people living in the Clifton Diocese who come from India. Father Augustine's podcast is also in the multimedia panel on the right.
