A new podcast series begins this Sunday (30 November) - the First Sunday of Advent. The podcasts come from the Cathedral’s Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) and feature the Gospel reading of the day and sequent discussion with the children.
The popular BBC Radio Bristol Christmas Carol Service is to be held in Clifton Cathedral. The annual event is free and always proves a popular night’s festive entertainment.

In 1999, in order to mark the advent of the new Millennium, the St Vincent de Paul Society launched Youth SVP, its youth development programme. Now ten years on, Youth SVP is well established as the largest youth organisation in the Catholic Church of England and Wales and a new DVD featuring young people Our Lady and St Alphege in Bath, has been produced to mark Youth SVP’s 10th anniversary.

Rehearsals are well under way in Swindon for St Mary’s parish Production of ‘Death on the Aisle’. This play is written, directed and produced by Steve Brown, a parishioner of St Mary’s and teacher at St Joseph’s Catholic College.

The Clifton Diocese has won two more awards for its podcasts, again beating the BBC in the process. An episode of the diocese’s ‘Let Us Pod’ was judged the best podcast at the Christian Broadcasting Council Awards winning the gold award. The Clifton Diocese took silver is the same category with ‘Journey - The Sound of Many Waters Podcast’.

Parishioners at St Catharine’s in Frome are joining with other Christians in the Somerset town during December to bring the true message of Christmas to as many people as possible. They are holding a torch relay around various venues including St Catharine’s during Advent, and will be singing carols wherever the torch rests on its journey.
