One of the young people who’ll be following the build-up to the
papal visit for
cliftondiocese.com writes with an introduction.
Cathedral parishioner
Gerard Owen was one three local young Catholics who were trained by among other
ITV’s Julie Etchingham. Now he writes for cliftondiocese.com introducing himself and explains a little about what he’ll be getting up to.
I am 22 years old and have just graduated from Exeter University with a BA in History and German. It is a great honour for me to represent our parish of Clifton Cathedral at the visit of Pope Benedict XVI this September as this is a momentous event in the history of the Catholic Church in the United Kingdom.
I approach the procession from Westminster Cathedral to Hyde Park on Saturday 18 September with feelings of great excitement and anticipation. However as parish representative and one of a team of voluntary communications officers for the papal visit, it is my job to report on it through media and share my experiences with you all as my fellow parishioners and brothers and sisters in Christ.
So please keep following
cliftondiocese.com for my stories on what is happening. You can also find me on
Twitter.
Thank you and God Bless.
