Priests’ Lenten Day of Prayer

23 February 2010
Location: Monastery of Our Lady and St Bernard
Address: Brownshill, Stroud GL6 8AL
Time: 10.30 am

Our Department of Ongoing Formation for Priests has organised an event for priests in our diocese to come together for a day offering an opportunity for prayer and reflection at the start of the Season of Lent as well as during this Year for Priests.

Our Director of Ongoing Formation for Priests, Father Christopher Whitehead, has organised this day as part of a series of events designed to affirm priestly ministry.   The day is therefore open to all priests in our diocese.

Father Christopher said: “As Lent begins in the next few weeks, I invite all priests in our diocese along to the Priests’ Lenten Day of Prayer.

“This day offers us an opportunity for prayer and reflection at the start of the Season of Lent as well as during this Year for Priests and will be led by Father Peter Craddy OCSO, the chaplain to the Bernardine Sisters at Brownshill. The Day of Prayer will take place at Brownshill. We are fortunate to have the use of these monastic facilities in the diocese once again, offering wonderful hospitality in such a beautiful setting.

“The day begins at 10.30 am with coffee and will end after supper which will begin at 6.30 pm. There is plenty of time for quiet prayer as well as a chance to enjoy and engage in the company of brother priests.

“I have sent out a booking form to priests and I would be grateful if you would return the completed form to Ronnie Mitchinson at Alexander House if you would like to take up this invitation. The programme for the day will be sent to you with the receipt of your booking.

“Of course, you can contact Ronnie for more information.  She’s on 0117 902 5595.”
