Address: Clifton Hill, Bristol BS8 1BN

A day at Emmaus House in Bristol led by Sister Ann O’Sullivan and Father Michael Healy.

Lent is early this year.  Easter is just about the earliest date it can be – 23 March.  Barley has the new year begun and we are getting through the first month than our thoughts start turning to what comes next.  Lent is usually something we shy away from.  Or maybe face with grim determination and all kinds of noble resolutions.  But need it be?  Might it not also be a time to face up to things and see them in a more positive light?  An opportunity to grow and let the spiritual side of ourselves come to the surface?

Since Christ was willing to face up to all his fears and confront his darkest doubts, maybe we will draw the kind of courage to do the same.  For as the old saying goes, “If we don’t face our demons, we will never meet our angels”.

This might well be the day to start – after all, Lent has already begun.  This short day could just be the push we need to plunge in right away!

A keen student of Scripture, the Parish Priest of St Pius X in Withywood, Bristol, Father Michael Healy recently returned from a programme of studies in the Holy Land.  The second semester in Jerusalem was all about exploring “the text in context” and Father Michael took full advantage of the opportunities offered there by the Sisters of Zion to reflect on what the message of Jesus might mean for us today.  If he has come up with more questions than answers maybe this is because that is the Jewish way of finding faith by struggling with the texts which are never simple, but always enlightening.  He likes nothing better than sharing these insights, and maybe boring people to death!

Sister Ann O’Sullivan first met the Enneagram during a sabbatical in 1979 and 1980.  A few years later she began teaching in a didactic form with three others.  In 1995, she qualified to teach the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition after training with Helen Palmer and David Daniels.  She has continued, developing a series of workshops and retreats, and also supervises those in training prior to qualification.

Ann brought the MBTI® into the UK in 1980 and has been using it consistently over the past 27 years.  She has worked with people in many countries and brings to it a wealth of understanding and practical use.  Her interest is in Jung’s theory, and people’s development on their life’s journey.  She is a member of the Training Faculty of OPP (Oxford Psychologists’ Press), training on the sponsored professional workshops at Emmaus House in Bristol as well as working with registered practitioners.  She offers individuals time both through coaching and spiritual accompaniment.

The cost of the day is £12.00 and include lunch and refreshments.
