Stroud’s Sporting Club Begins

Our parish in Stroud has formed a new parish golf society. Last week a special event was held to help to tee-off the new club in style.
Stroud’s Dean and Parish Priest of the Immaculate Conception, Father David Ryan is the founding President. Father David is a well known sportsman. As well as his passion for golf he follows Bristol Rovers.
Father David welcomed members to their first meeting, outlined the aims of the society and took part at the tenth hole. His late arrival in the course was due to a prior engagement that morning with Bishop Declan.
Father David told cliftondiocese.com: “The aim of the society is to promote a social environment around the game of golf where all can join in and enjoy the sport. Anyone wishing to join the Society can do so by contacting our Secretary Simon Gough-Rundle on 07977 571594.”
