Student Raises £11,000 for Charity

29 September 2009

Prior Park Catholic College student Camilla Hempleman-Adams, who is currently in Year 12 studying for her A Levels at the Bath college has raised a staggering £11,000 for St John Ambulance by swimming 2.5 kilometres in the pool at the University of Bath.

This is the largest amount the charity has ever received from a single-handed fund raising venture. On giving the donation Camilla said: “I wanted to give the money to St John Ambulance because of the fantastic work that they do. My sister used to be a cadet so I have seen the amount of time and effort these volunteers put into providing first aid for people every day and they never receive a penny for it.”

Camilla has shown sheer hard work and determination in raising such a fantastic sum for this worthy cause and we would like to congratulate her on another phenomenal achievement. Last year Camilla became the youngest British woman to ski to the North Pole, with her father - explorer David Hempleman-Adams.
