Swindon Deanery Leads the Way in Publishing Pastoral Plan

The Swindon Deanery has published its Pastoral Plan. In welcoming the plan Bishop Declan said, “One of the strengths of this Pastoral Plan is that it arises from clergy, laity and religious praying, reflecting and working together to discern the needs not only of the Catholic community but of the wider community of which Catholics are part. It is the Church in the world, transforming, healing and being a sign of hope to all who are in need.”

Father Liam Slattery, Dean of Swindon, said, "I am very grateful to the people from the various parishes in the Deanery who, over the past 18 months have brought the idea of a pastoral plan to fruition.

"Special thanks to Dr Rosemary Power, Ecumenical Development Officer for Swindon Churches Together, for all her time and expertise in facilitating the formulation of this plan. It is my hope and prayer that this plan, as it bears fruit in words, lives and action, will enable all people of the Deanery to more effectively proclaim the Kingdom by living the Gospel as a Christian, Caring Compassionate Community for all people."

The Swindon Deanery is made of the following parishes: St Aldhelm – Malmesbury, St Thomas More – Marlborough, Holy Rood – Swindon, Holy Family – Swindon, St Mary – Swindon, St Peter – Swindon, Sacred Heart - Wootton Bassett and St Joseph – Wroughton.
