'Let Us Pod' - 'The Clifton Cathedral Podcast' has won a top national prize at the Jerusalem Awards.
The Cathedral’s podcast came out the winner - against 10 others - in
the new media category which was open to all audio content produced
specifically for the internet.
Cathedral parishioner Mary Colwell - who produced the podcast -
picked-up the award at a ceremony in London. She said, “I'm delighted
we won - it is a great honour. Let’s hope it spurs us on to great
things in the future!”
“We’ve already produced a further special podcast for Sound of Many Waters - our ecological series of events. And a new series of podcasts featuring
reflections on issues of concern in peoples’ lives will soon be
available from this website.
'Let Us Pod' - 'The Clifton Cathedral Podcast' is an introduction to the
many activities that make up life in around the Cathedral parish in
Bristol. It features contributions from people and groups in the
parish.
Monsignor Robert Corrigan, Dean of Clifton Cathedral said, “I think the
podcast is a great way for people to find out about the Cathedral,
whether they are visiting our city or have just moved into the area.
“When it was launched in December last year, it was suggested that I
should play it instead of a sermon, but the podcast isn’t a sermon or a
speech - it’s an open invitation for people to come and join in our
life and community. It doesn’t say everything about us but I hope that
people will be encouraged by what they hear and will want to find out
more. Because in the end we aren’t talking about ourselves but about
Jesus Christ who is at the heart of everything we are.”
