We’re Living Our Faith

Date: 05 September 2007

Children and young people from all over the Clifton Diocese enjoyed ‘Living Your Faith’ camps during the recent summer holidays.

The 36 youngsters gathered at Our Lady's Homestead in the beautiful Gloucestershire village of Nympsfield.

Organiser Siobhan Allinson said, “Our theme this year was Baptism, Eucharist and Reconciliation. We looked at the importance of these sacraments in our Catholic life and how they should be lived in our daily lives.”

Siobhan from St Augustine’s parish in Downend, Bristol led the camps. She was helped by Father Tom Finnegan, Parish Priest at St Teresa’s in Filton, Bristol, who is the chaplain at the annual camps.

Father Tom said, “Many adult volunteers helped the young participants have a fantastic time.

“We prayed and played, we ate and drank, we laughed and celebrated. We even had a surprise visit from Bishop Declan!”

Plans are already being made for the 2008 camps. For more information please contact Siobhan Allinson on 07841 915433 or email siobhan.allinson@dunelm.org.uk.
